Hi there, I'm Jen
Welcome to the Blog
Designer, SEO Expert, transplant advocate,
and adventure addict.
A look at why a travel agent blog still matters, how blogging has changed to SEO focused, and how it helps long term website visibility.

You’ve probably been told you should be blogging for your travel business, right?
If so, the advice was technically correct. But the reason behind it has changed, and that’s where things tend to get confusing.
Blogging used to be about writing for readers.
Now, it’s mostly about writing for search engines.
That shift is why so many travel business owners feel stuck with it.
Now it’s more about structure.
Years ago, blogs functioned like newsletters or journals. You’d write longer posts, share stories, and hope people would read along. That worked when attention was easier to hold and platforms rewarded long form content.
But that’s not really how blogging works anymore.
Today, a travel agent blog plays a quieter role. It helps search engines understand what your website is about, what you offer, and where your expertise lives. Most people won’t read every word. Honestly, many won’t read it at all. And that’s okay.
A blog post doesn’t need to perform for readers to do useful work for your business.

Not instantly.
This is where expectations can get the best of you, and sometimes keep you from blogging when it really is so important.
Blogging isn’t a quick win. One post won’t suddenly bring in a wave of inquiries, and it’s not meant to. Blogging works through accumulation. Over time, a small collection of clear, focused posts helps your website show up more consistently in search.
Search engines care far more about relevance & consistency, than volume or frequency.
For most travel businesses, one thoughtful post a month is enough to support SEO without becoming another obligation, so that is a great place to start and a perfect goal for your business!
This is the part that surprises people.
Even though blog posts are written with search engines in mind, they can still help potential clients understand how you work. A post that answers common questions, explains destinations, or walks through your planning process does two things at once!
It gives search engines context, and it helps visitors trust what they’re seeing. Your website starts doing more of the explaining for you, yay!

If your business has grown, your website needs support. Blogging is one of the simplest ways to provide that support without rebuilding everything from scratch.
When blogging is treated as structure instead of performance, it stops feeling like something you should be doing and hopefully starts feeling like something that quietly pays off over time.
Always complimentary, always open to all.
If you’re interested in chatting about all things website + travel business, our general topic is usually SEO, and you’ll walk away with quick actionable steps each meetup to help you grow your business. I’d love to have ya! You can grab the info here – https://jetsiteandroam.com/quarterly
