Do I need to be tech savvy for my own travel agent website?

Can I have my own website if I'm with a host agency?
Yes. Your website lives alongside your host agency setup, it doesn't replace anything. Just check your host's policy before you buy, most are completely fine with it, a few have rules about branding or what you can call yourself.
What if I've never built a website before?
That's most of my clients, honestly. You're not starting from a blank page. The structure, the layout, and the prompts are already there, so you're filling in your business rather than building from nothing.
How long does this actually take?
Days, if you're doing it yourself and your content's mostly ready. The biggest part will be getting all of your images gathered, and making sure you know your offers and generally what you need to put in copy wise. About two weeks from your start date if I'm customizing it for you.
What happens if I get stuck?
You've got three places to go! The Support Hub, with videos and articles for the common stuff. Showit's live chat, which is real humans and comes with your subscription. And me.
Do I have to buy the blog plan?
Nope. Your site works just fine without it! The blog matters if you want to show up on Google over time though, and I recommend it, because Google rewards sites that keep publishing. But if that's not where you are right now, skip it and add it whenever you're ready. Your Showit subscription will be a little cheaper without it too.
What if I'd rather you just did the whole thing?

Will you write my copy or choose all my photos?
A bit of both, actually. You'll bring your words and your photos, since no one knows your business like you do. But you won't be doing it alone: we work on your copy together in a shared doc if you do customization, and the templates come with guided prompts if you DIY, so you're never staring at a blank page. With my template customization service I'll also cull and curate your images so every page looks intentional. You bring the raw material, I help shape it.
What if I switch host agencies down the road?
Your website won't care. The domain, the content, the reviews, the SEO, all yours. You'd update a few details and keep everything you've built. One of the best parts of this whole 'own website thing', I've seen that travel advisors move around hosts kinda frequently, not a problem!
Can I change my template later?
Yes. You'd buy the new one and move your content over. Most advisors don't need to for years, since these are built to hold up as your business changes, but absolutely, as things grow and change you can add to or edit your current template more, or change it completely.
What if I already have a website somewhere else?
Keep it up while you build the new one. When you're ready, you point your domain at the new site and nothing goes dark in between.
Can I use a domain I already own?
Absolutely! Love to see it! You'll point it at Showit, which takes a few minutes and comes with instructions. If you don't own one yet, you'll buy it from a registrar for about $20/yr.
